New client: an allowlist padlock, a report button and a cleaner server list

Two client updates in one overview: goodbye coloured server titles, hello padlock for allowlisted servers, and upvotes tucked behind a tooltip.

Cfx.re is updating the FiveM and RedM clients in waves this year. Here are the two server-list updates side by side.

February: a cleaner design

  • A streamlined, more consistent design.
  • Coloured server titles are gone: calmer and more accessible.
  • A Report button on individual server pages.
  • New character limits: sv_projectName from 50 to 40, sv_hostname from unlimited to 120, sv_projectDesc from 125 to 250.

May: access requirements

Servers with an allowlist (an application, joining a Discord, and so on) now get a padlock in the server list, and you can explain on the details page how players get in. You can set this in txAdmin or with two convars:

# Set via txAdmin (Configure Server) or as convars:
# sv_appearAllowlisted → shows the padlock in the server list
# sv_allowlistInstructions → instructions on your server details page,
# e.g. "Apply through our Discord"

It's up to the server owner to say honestly whether there's an allowlist. The total number of upvotes has also been removed from the list; you now only see it in a tooltip on the new upvote icon.

Update, 14 OctoberName, description, tags, language and images for the server list are now managed in the Cfx Portal. Read our article on the Portal update.
