Everything Cfx.re retired in 2026 (and what you need to do)

2026 was the year of the big clean-up at Cfx.re. Individual announcements are easy to miss, so we've put everything in one place. Today, 15 October, the last deadline of the year passes as well.

The timeline

1. 31 March 2026Nucleus reverse proxy shut downThe *.users.cfx.re proxy has been fully retired. Your server's HTTP endpoints are no longer reachable through it; set up your own reverse proxy if you need one.
2. 27 April 2026xbl: and live: identifiers removedThe Xbox Live and Microsoft PUID identifiers are gone from GetPlayerIdentifiers. Cfx.re expects most servers won't notice, but check your resources.
3. 24 June 2026Account security updateTo keep stolen Rockstar accounts out, the license:/license2: of a small number of players may change. See our article.
4. 20 August 2026sv_replaceExeToSwitchBuilds deprecatedThe client now always runs the latest stable GTAV executable and only loads the Title Update content your server asks for via sv_enforceGameBuild.
5. 14 October 2026Server metadata moves to the Cfx PortalName, description, tags, language and images are now managed in the Portal instead of in your config.
6. 15 October 2026Compatibility window for old FXServer endsConnecting to FXServer versions older than 35245 is no longer possible.

Checklist for server owners

• Are you on FXServer 35245 or later? If not: update, now.
• Remove sv_replaceExeToSwitchBuilds from your server.cfg.
• Search your resources for xbl: and live:, for example in old whitelist or ban scripts.
• Store multiple identifiers per player, so a changed license doesn't mean a lost character.
• Log in to the Cfx Portal and check that your server name, tags and banner came across correctly.
• Used the Nucleus URL in webhooks or a web panel? Replace it with your own domain.
