Sollumz update: YMAPs rebuilt, and LOD lights baked in one click

The Blender plug-in for GTAV assets gets a rewritten YMAP workflow, drag-and-drop LOD hierarchies and automatic partitioning.

Sollumz, the Blender plug-in for creating and editing GTAV assets, has had a major update, thanks to the ongoing collaboration with community member alexguirre. For mappers, this is a big one.

YMAPs rewritten from scratch

YMAP support (the 3D map format) has been rebuilt from the ground up and now covers every feature of the format. You manage maps in the new Maps panel in the Tools sidebar, with a workflow similar to MLOs.

LOD hierarchy and LOD lights

  • YMAP LOD hierarchies are fully supported and preserved on export, even across multiple YMAP files.
  • Incomplete hierarchies are protected from edits that could lose data.
  • The new Map LOD Hierarchy tool lets you drag LOD relationships right in the viewport.
  • LOD lights can be imported and exported, and a Bake LOD Lights operator generates the lodlights and distlodlights YMAPs for you.

MLO instances and automatic partitioning

You can now add MLO instances to YMAPs with the "Create MLO Instance" button. And if you set a map container to Auto, Sollumz sorts the items into the standard sub-containers itself: .strm, long, critical and per-interior YMAPs.
